Spooky!

Miss Spooky

I am Spooky Boo [aka Tara Marie]. I am the lover and student of all things Halloween, Horror, Gothic, and Odd. I am not a mean or depressing person, in fact, if you were to ask my friend and family, they would say that I have a bubbly personality and a sweet girl. So why a sweet one such as myself find comforts in the dark, dead, and scary? My older sister has been wondering the same thing and the best possible answer I can give is...I love life.

That should not make any sense in the normal standard...not really much "life" going on with the dead and spooky things but I find that seeing dead things, collecting creepy things, and watching horror movies makes me appreciate life.

I value life and all its grandness. I am lucky to be here just like everyone on this planet. I have happened to always loved the darker things, the odd things, the spooky thing and it makes me love the light of life. I use to be overwhelming terrified with death. Laying down in my bed, scared beyond breath, about the end of me and I had so many questions about the after life and why I am here...just like everyone else. For me, I just couldn't breath I was so scared. I would ask my mom and she would tell me her best answer for things but still, I was frightened. I found comforts within not sunshine or dolls but skulls and coffins and when I discovered there were TV shows about ghost...I was scared to watch them but I could not stop. As I grew up and my Grandfather died, I had to stop, sit, and reflect on myself... why should I be afraid of something that I will become? I will be dead...I might be a ghost someday. I was annoyed with myself for being scared of these things when I collected Living Dead Dolls and loved vampires. I was in love with the macabre and enjoyed learning about ghost and strange things.

To really pin point when I stopped being afraid of myself dying and to be understanding of ghost was when I married my best friend and high school sweetheart Nicodemus. That is what life is about...him...my mom...my dad...the sisters and brothers I have...my friends. They will die too...and that scares me more now than myself dying.

 So when I collect Halloween decorations, Living Dead Dolls, and taxidermy..I see the true beauty in the macabre and the decay. I am struck with a feeling of pure happiness when I see a coffin or some bones. I get excited when I hear the word Halloween or monster.  I find things related to death more beautiful than anything on this earth, but if death is beauty...then life is breathtaking.

People may ask you...why do like scary things?...why are you Goth?....Don't you think that is a bit morbid to like? You are probably like me... someone who actually values life and to be honest...scaring people is a real hoot ;p

How To Decorate Your Lovely Crypt

How to Decorate your Lovely Crypt!

Spooky's Living Room {Beer and Smart Water goood}
 You have clicked on this section of my blog...good...that means you like to decorate like you are getting ready for a Halloween party or setting up a haunted house. You are my mind of people :}

Decorating a Spooky home takes a bit of time, money, waiting, and the love for the occult and dead things. All easy and normal, right!? I would say so myself, but for someone who is new to this "lifestyle" it can be challenging.

It is not a perfect world where every store has Halloween items to buy all year (some stores do and I will share some links later here or in my Spooky Finds section). So sometimes we need to go to some places that have "scary" or "creepy" items to our liking. Really, decorating your spooky home is all up your liking's and interest. My Living Room {seen above} has some taxidermy and Ouija Board related items and that somehow made an Ouija themed/ witches den room. I also have a Frankenstein's Monster themed bathroom with a poster of Boris Karloff {as the creature} and green monster hand towels and a trash bin.

So, it is all about what YOU like and how you decorate. On this section of my blog it will be kind of like an arts and crafts corner. Sharing decorating ideas, food stuff, and things related to the things that the Munsters and the Addams would use in their lovely homes.

Sounds That are Spooky

"What Music They Make"

Unknown Source
Music is a big part of my life and I would argue that it shapes everyone either in a small or grand way. I think I would not love horror and Halloween as much as I do now without Goth or Horror Rock. I just want to share the music I love and the music I think to be  interesting. Maybe you might find your next favorite band or song here. I will be using Youtube and {If I can figure it out} Spotify  to share my music.

Shopping With Spooky
unknown source
I like things... I think we all do... and I just want to share some of my few favorite places so that you can get all the things for Halloween and to make your home feel cozy and creepy (same thing in my book).  I will be sharing links to these stores, pictures (naturally) and if I have ever been to a unique store...I will display a link to my Spooky Travels section where I blog about my experience.
Stay Spooky everyone ;P

Boris the Dapper Cat

The Cat behind the Bow Tie!

You may be wondering; "Who is this handsome cat?...Why is he so dapper!?" His name is Boris and he is my very handsome and dapper cat that has a personality all on his own. Silly that someone would post..let alone, have a page for their cat right? To be honest...he should have his own TV show I think but that is just me. The reason why I am flaunting this man around is that he has his own little section about the strange world of Cats, other animals, and anything he deems spooky! So pretty much..this is about the natural..unnatural world and Boris just happens to be my poster boy... but can you blame me..he is so dapper!
Stay Dapper folks!

Spooky Greetings!
